The marketing website does not add analytics cookies, advertising cookies or marketing tracking pixels. Navigation and public page interactions do not require a visitor account.
Contact-form security
The contact form loads Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish legitimate submissions from automated abuse. It processes browser and network signals and supplies a short-lived verification token. It is used for security, not advertising. This widget is configured without pre-clearance, so it does not request a cf_clearance cookie. Blocking its script can prevent form submission; you can email hello@appearoften.com instead.
Interface sound preference
The Interface sounds control saves your on/off choice in this browser’s localStorage under appearoften:button-sounds-muted. This preference is not sent to a server and is not used for analytics or advertising. It remains until you change it or clear the site’s browser storage. Sounds occur only after eligible control activations, never automatically on page load. Blog, legal and editorial administration pages stay silent.
Editor sign-in
The separate editorial system uses an authentication cookie for signed-in editors. It supports protected administration features and is not required to read the public blog. Editors should sign out on shared devices.
Preview access
The preview hosting service may use additional cookies for security or access protection. These are separate from the interface preference described above. This page describes the website implementation, not a complete inventory of cookies set by preview-access services.
Browser controls
You can inspect, clear or restrict cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing local storage resets the interface sound preference. Blocking authentication cookies can prevent editorial sign-in.
